Although young in his years, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Sean. Born and raised in Southern California, Sean has always been involved in sports and general fitness. Normally the smallest kid on the team or in the gym, he was always looking for new ways to try and get the upper hand that would allow him to compete and stand a chance. This attitude and constant drive led to the want to learn more about ways of getting stronger/healthier. The fire was fueled even more after joining the United States Army in the summer of 2008 at the age of 18. At an early age, Sean got a quick dose of reality and his mind was opened to a whole other aspect of what it meant to truly be “physically fit.” Enter CrossFit. Unbeknownst at the time, this constantly varied, functional training would prove to help keep him alive during his year long deployment in Afghanistan’s deadly Kunar Province. During the year leading up to, and also during the deployment, Sean would be pushed to his limits… and then some.

Sean left the military in December of 2011 reaching the rank of Sergeant in just those few short years, bringing with him all the values that the Army had instilled in him. Moving to Adrian Michigan, Sean began attending Adrian college in the Spring of 2012, playing baseball and starting towards his degree exercise science and philosophy. Sean feels that not only is it important to understand how the human body works when it comes to fitness, but also the importance of ones mindset too. He truly believes that the same principles that are applied inside the box (gym) are not limited to the box or fitness itself, but rather to one’s everyday life for no matter what the situation might be, if you’re heads not in it, chances are you’re not gonna win it!

In April of 2013, Sean completed and passed the CrossFit Level 1 Certificate class and hasn’t looked back since. After some bumpy roads and the help of some awesome family members, BlackHorse CrossFit was opened on June 1st. Through the box and CrossFit, Sean is able to do the one thing that he’s always had a passion for…to help others and change their lives for the better. If there is one thing that he has learned over the years, it is that good things don’t come to those who wait. Good things come to those who work their asses off to get it!
